LandBase data systems

LandBase provides custom database solutions, network infrastructure services and data-driven web-site options to businesses and educational organisations.

We specialise in database systems using FileMaker Pro 8.5. These are accessible to computers on Windows (XP SP2) and Mac (10.4) upwards without any issues of cross-platform compatibility.

What is a database?

Consider a word-processing programme. Essentially it is data stored in one-dimension - a long string. As compared to a spreadsheet which is a two-dimensional array of data in cells - a table. Databases provide the third dimension: relationships between tables linked through the cells - or fields ... e.g. customers:invoices:dates:contact details:products.

What are the primary benefits?

Each piece of data is entered only once. The database structure already links it to every other place it is needed - calculations, reports, invoices, etc.

  • Saves time because data is always current
  • Simplifies find & sort features
  • Simplifies outputting; reports, archives, emails & back-ups

Who needs one?

All businesses need a data management system - from those used to keeping everything on a few spreadsheets to those requiring their online outputs be updated minute-by-minute.

Using FileMaker Pro we can convert your existing data sources into an elegant and efficient database, improving productivity by optimising access and information outputs.
We can upgrade, enhance or adapt your database & systems as work-flow requires.

We work with you to:

  • Understand your business framework and challenges
  • Build the solution, with demo proto-types if required
  • Validate the solution against requirements
  • Roll out the solution across your organisation
  • Provide ongoing training and support as required

If you are considering a tailored software solution, require assistance with data management, or simply need ideas on improving your computer network infrastructure, LandBase will be happy to help.
