Nau mai, haere mai! Welcome to my website. I'm an editor, writer and celebrant, living in Dunedin, New Zealand.

Books have always played a large part in my life, as I’m the daughter of two librarians. I’ve worked in bookshops and in the publishing industry, and published my first book in 2007.

I was the editor of Organic NZ magazine from 2008 to 2021, and served on the National Council of the Soil & Health Association of New Zealand from 2006–2008. To help build a sustainable, resilient and connected community I became involved in the local Transition Towns group, Transition Valley 473, particularly in our community orchard project.

I have travelled in Asia, and lived in Japan for a year teaching English. I spent two and a half years volunteering as a ‘wwoofer’ on organic farms around New Zealand, and four months wwoofing in Europe.

My lifelong interests in the environment and politics led me to stand as a candidate for the Green Party in Dunedin North electorate in the 2005 New Zealand general election.

I hold a BA in Phenomenology of Religion and Political Studies (1988) and a Dip Grad (Japanese language, 2000) both from the University of Otago. I completed a Certificate in Publishing at Whitireia Community Polytechnic in 1995, and a Certificate in Celebrant Studies (Auckland University of Technology, 2006).
