We are a small Te Anau based club enjoying access to the vast playground of the Southern Lakes region, especially Fiordland and Mount Aspiring National Parks, and the nearby Eyre and Takitimu Mountains. Outdoor recreation undertaken each year by the club includes cross country skiing, sea kayaking, mountain biking, trail cycling and tramping, the predominant activity. The club caters for all ages and levels of ability, including children, and is active all year round. Naturally the variable weather at any time of the year in mountain terrain can prompt late notice changes to trip plans. We enjoy our fair share of outstanding weather as the trip photos show.Club members undertake conservation projects as a club activity in the Darran Mountains and on Pomona Island, Lake Manapouri.Social gatherings are held periodically. We have two social trip planning meetings a year for members, these are held in the first and last calendar quarters in Te Anau. Offers to lead trips are welcomed. The club celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2017.
